The Shark Skwal 2 2 is the only helmet on the market that does something with light. This adds a whole new dimension to the helmet design. This integrated LED system gives a certain look to this helmet that distinguishes it from any other full-face helmet of today. The LEDs are placed in a way that it accentuates the beautiful parts of this helmet. This gives a beautiful look to the front and also ensures that the spoiler gets that sharp look. The lighting of the Shark Squal 2.2 is a brilliant addition if you ask us. You stand out with this helmet. Apart from the fact that this LED lighting contributes to safety in the dark, it also gives a beautiful image when the LED lighting is on.
The LED lighting at Skwal 2.2 has brighter LEDs, is more spacious and more striking than at the Skwal. This gives a cool look to the helmet. The LED lighting can be charged with the supplied USB cable. In the charged state, the battery lasts for about a day. Shark´s new visor Autoseal mechanism is also used in this helmet. This helmet is prepared for a sharktooth communication system. Which means that the communication system can be completely concealed in the helmet, thanks to the channels in the inner shell.
The Skwal 2.2 is provided with the “Shark Easy fit” system. This option means that there are two channels in which the arms of your glasses slide in. The big advantage is that the arms never press on your head, no matter how tight the helmet is. People who wear glasses know better than anyone how difficult some helmets can be combined with your glasses. This is completely solved with the Shark Easy Fit.
You have to search mainly in the entry models of other quality brands for the competitors of the Shark Skwal 2. An awesome competitor is the AGV K1. However, this helmet starts at a suggested retail price of € 179, – The K1 does not have an integrated sun visor. Other major competitors are the HJC I70, the Nolan N60-5, and the Icon Airflite. The HJC i70 does offer an integrated sun visor and comes standard with a Pinlock. This helmet starts at a suggested retail price of € 199, – and also comes with a polycarbonate shell.
The shell of the Shark Skwal2.2 is made of polycarbonate. This helmet is made of strong lightweight material, which is very durable and shock resistant, with a weight of about 1490 grams. The EPS inner shell offers optimal shock absorption. The LED lighting ensures that you are well seen in traffic. Apart from being good for safety, this is a real eye catcher among the helmets. The internal sun visor is easy to operate with one hand while driving and this ensures a safe use and field of vision, especially when the sun is low.
The aerodynamic shape, lowered spoiler and well-fitting lining of the helmet ensure optimal stability at high speeds. When you drive a bit faster, this is an important characteristic and often this is lacking in entry models, but Shark has solved this very nicely. The Shark Skwal 2.2 is ECE R 22-05 standard certified, and has a micro rattle closure. This closure is easy and quick to open and close and the adjustment at this closure is also smooth.
The ventilation of the Shark Swal 2.2 is, just like its predecessor, of an excellent quality. The air inlets are adjustable and at the top with a glove-friendly slide switch. Thanks to the positioning of the spoiler and the air outlets, the warm / humid air is, sucked out at the back of the helmet. A vacuum effect is created under the spoiler, resulting in excellent ventilation. The air entering through the chin vent also blows towards the visor and prevents condensation.
The air intakes are equipped with LED lighting as well as the air outlet in the spoiler. The LED lighting is operated with a button at the bottom of the helmet. This LED light can, depending on your choice, be blinking, turned on or off. Furthermore, the helmet is supplied with a removable chin curtain to keep the wind out. The advanced aerodynamics and the very well-fitting visor on the shell, ensure silence in the helmet. The Shark Skwal 2.2 comes standard with a breath guard and a chin guard. The chin guard stops the wind from entering, which also promotes sound insulation in the helmet. The 3D lining certainly also contributes to the silence in the helmet. The 3D lining encloses the head in a sturdy yet comfortable way. The noise reduction in this Shark helmet feels wonderfully relaxing during longer journeys.
The visor of the Shark Skwal 2.2 helmet is a max vision visor optical class 1. This means that the visor, including pinlock lens, creates almost no or no distortions at all in the image, and that the visor offers a very broad field of view. It is a sturdy visor with a thickness of about 5mm. This visor is available in different colors, and the visor is prepared for a fog free pinlock lens that is also included.
The visor uses an Autoseal system that ensures that the visor is pulled tight in the closed position and therefore does not allow water, air and almost no sound to pass through. Furthermore, the visor has had an anti-scratch treatment and is anti-fog treated to prevent condensation from forming. The visor of the Shark Skwal 2.2 is very easy and quick to remove or change without the use of tools.

The outside of the internal sun visor is also treated with anti-scratch. With this internal sun visor, you also do not need tools for removing or changing it.
The 3D lining in the Skwal 2.2 is fully removable, washable and has had an anti-bacterial treatment. It quickly absorbs moisture and also dries quickly. This is nice when sweat is absorbed quickly during an intensive ride and then dries up quickly. This lining feels extremely comfortable.
